Overview
Unit 47 is a compact (roughly 340 sq mi) block of high-desert rangeland bounded by U.S. 93 on the east, the Rogerson-Three Creek-Jarbidge Road on the west, and the Idaho-Nevada state line to the south. It is nearly all open sagebrush steppe — over 90% rangeland — with almost no timber and no wilderness. Pronghorn are the primary draw; mule deer are present in low numbers with a small annual harvest, and elk are essentially absent.
Terrain
Rolling to flat sagebrush plateau rising gradually southward from the U.S. 93 corridor toward the higher Jarbidge foothills near the Nevada line, cut by shallow draws and a few creek drainages.
Cover: Big sagebrush and low-sage steppe with native bunchgrass and scattered rabbitbrush; thin riparian strips along creeks; scattered dryland and irrigated ag near Rogerson.

Roughly 69% BLM and 5% state (IDL), interspersed with about 26% private in a checkerboard/ranch pattern. Access is by BLM two-tracks and county roads off U.S. 93 and the Three Creek Road. No National Forest or designated wilderness in the unit, and no Access Yes! properties currently enrolled — so private inholdings can landlock chunks of otherwise public sections.
